We had such a lovely, peaceful stay, feeling like we were back in Nepal. The views of the hills, fresh air and water were stunning. We'll definitely return and recommend it to family and friends!

We had a lovely time! The scenery was stunning and the walking and cycling options were fantastic. The pubs and restaurants nearby are really good too.

Great for those who want peace and quiet. Not much around, but perfect if you're after a relaxing walk with your dog. We liked it!

Great location, clean site, perfect for families and near the coast too!
Emma, Warrington
Great service overall, hinges were squeaking a lot, but oiling sorted that out quickly. Very pleased!
Sam
We loved staying at this little cottage! It’s perfectly tucked away, so it’s quiet but still close enough to everything we needed. The hot tub was a real treat and the underfloor heating kept us cosy. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie made us feel so welcome. Can’t wait to return!
Olivia
We had such a lovely stay! The cottage was charming, with a cosy log burner and hot tub. The hosts were really friendly too. Hope to come back soon!

We had an amazing stay at this place! The house was super cosy and well equipped, perfect for a rainy December day. The bath was fantastic and the shower was nice and spacious. The location is great, especially if your dog hates fireworks - so peaceful in the middle of nowhere. The house is beautifully converted and really charming. Thanks so much for having us!
Oliver
We had a lovely stay at this charming cottage. The owners are genuinely welcoming and so helpful, making us feel right at home. The place itself is beautifully maintained, cosy yet well-equipped, with a great shower and a super comfy bed. Parking right next to the property is a real bonus. It’s spotlessly clean, well heated and perfect for exploring the surrounding fields and Thaxted’s pretty village with its windmill and half-timbered houses. Definitely recommend!
Emma
We absolutely loved our stay at Goddard Mead! The cottage had everything we needed and the walks right outside were perfect. The hosts were genuinely friendly and made us feel really welcome. Fantastic experience!
Jasmine
We recently stayed at Goddard's Mead and honestly, it was a lovely experience. Rob and Sharon put so much effort into restoring this historic place and it shows. They gave us a warm welcome and Bonnie was adorable. The location is perfect for exploring Essex, especially if you enjoy wandering through charming villages like Thaxted. It’s a peaceful spot with everything you need for a comfy stay. Highly recommend if you're after a relaxing getaway!

The hosts were genuinely lovely and went above and beyond when the storm knocked out the power. The cottage was spotless, warm and well-equipped. Our dog loved the enclosed garden and we had a great time in the hot tub!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The cottage was charming and perfect for a peaceful escape. Just a heads up, there are some night flights from Stanstead nearby. The hot tub was a real highlight!
Claire
We had a lovely stay at this charming cottage. The hot tub and log burner made it extra special. Hosts were so friendly, really peaceful too. Hope to come back for longer soon!
Emma
We had a really lovely stay! The house was super well equipped and so cosy, perfect for a rainy December day. The bath was fantastic and the shower was a good size. The location is great if you’ve got dogs who dislike fireworks, since it's really remote. And honestly, the noise from planes didn’t bother us at all. Thanks a lot for a lovely break!
Samuel
We had such a great weekend here, it really ticked all the boxes for us. The dogs especially loved the underfloor heating and running around in the garden - Luna was wagging her tail so much she hurt it! Honestly, everyone was so happy, pups and humans alike. We’re definitely planning to come back soon. Can’t wait!
Emma
We had such a lovely stay at Goddard's Mead! Rob, Sharon and Bonnie made us feel really welcome from the moment we arrived. The building’s been beautifully restored with lots of care and it’s a perfect spot to unwind. The location is ideal, nestled in a lovely part of Essex. We definitely recommend exploring Thaxted and nearby villages - so much history and charm just waiting to be discovered. Absolutely worth a visit!
Raj
We had a really lovely stay at this cosy spot tucked away in a peaceful, private area. The owners were super friendly and always available if we needed anything, but it remained quiet enough for us to relax fully. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day of cycling - definitely a highlight! One thing to note is that the cottage is quite close to Stansted’s flight path, so there’s quite a bit of aircraft noise. It took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but it didn’t ruin our holiday at all. Would happily come back!
Karen
The staff were very helpful a very relaxing holiday would defo recommend
Sarah
Had a great time at the park, it was nice and quiet which is what we wanted. The quality of the van was great. Only a few things would have pushed it to outstanding but they were not enough to anyway be negative on our break. The park does only advertise limited facilities and what we used was good. The food was amazing and I wished they did it every night! The location was lovely and close to beaches and towns with more facilities.

Just come back from spending 4 nights here with my family consisting of 2 adults and 3 young children. Lyons Manor House is located in the country side, about 20 minutes from Maryport and shops. Lovely drive through the country surrounded by local farms and livestock. Collected our keys at reception, the staff was helpful and polite. Entering the caravan, it was modern (thank goodness) and clean. Plenty of space for a young family to explore inside and out of the caravan. You have your own little driveway to park your car and the manor house is surrounded by plenty of fields, so expect the smell of fresh manure. The caravan was comfortable and the kids slept very well. Facilities, we didn't really need to pack much other than clothes and toiletries and snacks as cutlery, plates, cups, glasses, tea towels, toilet roll was already supplied. There is a playground on site which kept the kiddies entertained and the beach is literally down the road, if you drive its 1 min or if you like to walk about 20 mins or so. Not much on site, but to be honest that did not bother us. There is a restaurant which operated most days of the week (so stock up on food just incase) and a bar - that is it. Plenty of bins for recycling around the site to dispose of rubbish. There are no shops on site, the nearest one is roughly about 20 minutes away which has your local supermarkets and fast food chains which is about 28 mins away with retail parks. Nearest fish and chips is literally 7 mins away, regardless of the reviews, we found the 'Codfathers" to be quite yummy and its the only food place around without driving for 28 minutes to find a McDonald's. Would I come back or recommend, Yes we would. We don't go away to stay in caravans all day every day of our holiday, we like to venture out and we did this everyday in the pouring rain. If you want a peaceful location, surrounded by nature, animals and fields and a local beach knowing that the nearest shop is almost 20 minutes away and good for money, than Lyons Manor House offers just that.
Tina
Lovely clean site, could do with an on site shop but besides that it was excellent
Pat

A lovely break at ManorPark, a quiet site with good facilities. Our mobile home was clean and well equipped. Great for exploring the local area, lovely for bike rides and local facilities.
