We just got back from a week at Goddards Mead and honestly, it was lovely. The cottage had everything we could think of, super cosy too. The hosts were really friendly and welcoming. Even on a working farm, it felt peaceful and relaxing all around!

Slightly "grubby" suite in living room. Lighting in bedroom a little dim but everything else excellent.

We had a lovely stay at this cottage, tucked away on a working farm but still totally private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are genuinely lovely people. The place itself is really spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that we loved. The garden is perfect for dogs - secure and with nice furniture to relax on. Plenty of walks nearby and Thaxted has some great restaurants like The Star and The Maypole. We’d definitely recommend it!

We had such a lovely stay at this peaceful site right across from a stunning beach. It’s super well-kept and spotless, which we really appreciated. The caravans are spacious and comfy - definitely a highlight. We also loved being so close to Silloth, just a quick 5-minute drive, where there’s a co-op, Spar, Jay bees and a great fish and chip shop with the best food. The surrounding lakes like Keswick, Derwentwater and Buttermere are all within an hour or less, perfect for day trips. The staff were really friendly and helpful throughout. Watching a calf being born in the cow field next to us was such a special moment. We’ll be back for sure!

We had an amazing weekend here! The place really ticked all the boxes for us and we’re already planning our return. Our dogs especially loved the underfloor heating and the garden - Luna was wagging her tail so much she strained it! Honestly, happy pups, happy humans. It was just what we needed and we’ll definitely be back soon!

We booked this place for a dog walking getaway and it was just what we needed. Lovely comfy accommodation, plenty of nearby pubs and eateries and endless fields for walks. The dog didn’t want to leave either!

We stayed for six nights and overall it was a decent break. The caravan was clean but looked a bit tired and could do with some new blinds - those tie backs took ages to fix! It was chilly at night, but the location was great, with a lovely beach just across the road. Our dog had a blast too!

We had a really lovely time during our stay! Sharon and Robert were such warm hosts, making us feel right at home from the start. The place was spotlessly clean, comfy and perfect for Archie with good security. The location was fantastic, loads of lovely walks and nearby villages like Thaxted are real gems to explore. Honestly, we left feeling totally refreshed and relaxed-definitely a break we needed!

Really enjoyed our time here, such good value for money. Only downside was the poor EE signal, but that's just Cumbria for you, really. Would come back!

From start to finish the holiday was excellent. Friendly staff and great location and very peaceful. Would recommend to anybody looking for peace and quiet and a nice beach across the road to walk on

We had a pleasant 4 night stay in the caravan. Very quiet site, well kept and very clean. Caravan was spacious, clean and tidy. Excellent location, local pretty villages, nice coastal walks, not far from The Lake District, next to the Solway Firth Area of natural Beauty, lots of local eating places and picnic areas. Would recommend and definitely rent again.
Mateo
Excellent Caravan site. Very welcoming manager. Nothing too much trouble. Dvds available to borrow and put back if have laptop. Beach is 100 yards away lovely for BBQ. Scotland you can see from beach when clear weather check with phone provider for signal in the area as EE not the best signal in and around Cumbria/Carlisle Brilliant time had was lovely and quiet and able to see the stars on clear night. We would definitely stay there again.
Robert
We really enjoyed our week stay at Rowanbank! We used it as a base to explore the lake district but also loved our time in the park, as the owners and fellow caravaners were all extremely friendly. A great place to take a dog, there is a large beach across the road for walks and there is a lovely sunset on a clear day. Special thanks to Steve who kindly supplied us with bed linen after we didn't realise we needed to bring it due to covid. This place is great if you just want a quiet chilled out location!
