This is a great value for money holiday for all the family. There is so much on site you almost don't have to even visit the outside amenities, of which there is a huge selection, catering for all ages and budgets. Would recommend getting a 'resort pass' for Blackpool as it is worth while if you plan to visit the attractions.

The caravans were really nice , the only main problem we had was the restaurant on site as it was selling food that was mostly microwaved and the price for two meals is over £30 where you would get better food from a weatherspoons for cheaper that was the only issue we had

Lovely caravan, felt like nobody else had ever stayed in it as it was brand new. Was just lacking a veranda to make it perfect. Especially since we had very young kids with us.
Matt, Colne
Date of stay: 12th September 2014
The cleanest caravan I have stayed in. No problems at all.
Pam, Cumbria
Date of stay: 8th August 2014
The site only had one shallow pool so it got very full and you could not swim easily. Perhaps it is assumed you would be going into Blackpool, which is very easy to get to, more than staying on site. Having said that my grandsons and I had a great time
David, Huddersfield
Date of stay: 13th June 2014
very helpful man at site entry, gave clear directions to reception . The reception staff very pleasant and informative. made check in stress free. showed us a map marked with location and route to our marton deluxe plus 2 clearly marked. gave us a personal contact name and number should any problems arise.
made us feel as if we were special and our enjoyment was important to them.
the whole site was very well laid out, many caravans in total but located in small distinct areas of no more than 10 units all with adequate parking spaces.
the facilities on site were of a very high standard.
have already recommended marton mere to some friends.
hope to visit again soon.
Bryan
Caravan was good.clean but not spotless in a couple of bits.tv in bedroom was set at wrong angle as couldn't be seen from bed just had a mostly black pict with some shapes
Daniel
Cheap and cheerful 4 days in Blackpool, good facilities on site and 10-15 mins drive to Blackpool centre Peir. Staff were very helpful and quick to fix anything that did go wrong.
Maureen
Lovely site lovely caravan only thing that let it down was the bus route well not the route but the time it finished at night had to be at the bus stop dead at 8 or you were stranded that is much too early this should be addressed be nice if Marton Mear could run there own bus 4-5 times a day and just make the last one a little later if you don't come in a car your lost the site was abs brilliant do its nice to have a nice day out that's mainly why people come to visit Blackpool
Andrew
We use Marton Mere twice a year as we attend the IDTA national ballroom & latin finals. We have also attracted other dance families to Martin Mere. This place is excellent value for money.
Sheila
Reception staff very friendly and helpful nothing was a problem for them

Fun Days Out near Marton Mere

about 19 Miles
Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed.  A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family.  From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out.  Also popular is the kids tractor play area.  For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station.  The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Here at the Wildlife Oasis you can really get up close to the animals and experience a mix of exotic wildlife and hand son displays.  See butterflies, birds and even bats flying around.  You don't have to plan your visit according to weather either with the tropical hall and butterfly house undercover.  Sunny days are ideal for some of the inhabitants however with the monkeys and Lemurs loving to sunbathe.  The mission of Lakeland's Wildlife Oasis is to engender and foster an interest and appreciation of the natural world which, in our belief underpins wildlife conservation; and, where possible to contribute and encourage contribution to the conservation of wildlife and wild places.  You know that you are helping with this mission if you choose to visit.

Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.

This is a very popular theme park with three different locations.  The theme park in Warrington contains not only the theme park but also Gullivers Splash Zone and Gullivers Star Studios.  The Solash Zone is a fully heated indoor water play factory fun for all ages which will appeal on rainy days.  Throughout the year there are seasonal events too such as the Halloween and Fireworks event taking place from 23rd to 31st October.  You can book online to save time and secure your tickets during busy periods.  Over 50% of the rides are actually under cover so you don't need to worry about the British weather spoiling the fun.

St Winefride's Well in Flintshire is described at one of the 7 wonders of Wales and is shrouded in mystery and intrigue. Legend has it that the well first erupted at the spot where Caradog cut off the nuns head with his sword. The shrine was then erected in her memory in the first decade of the sixteenth century and remains one of the holiest places in Wales. The stunning temple and well attract visitors from all over the world. Water can be drawn from the spring basin within the crypt and is thought to be lucky.

The Seaquarium in Rhyl is a fantastic choice for a family day trip offering the chance to meet strange and exotic marine life from all around the world. The sea animals here come from the depths of the Amazon, Pacific & Indian Oceans as well as from around UK shores. Slimy Eels, scary Sharks and creepy Piranhas are all there to be seen as well as beautiful and elegant Rays. The site also has a café and a gift shop where children can pick up a souvenir.
