Had a great weekend here, would definitely recommend it! Perfect for a relaxing anniversary getaway.
Emma
Date of stay: 6th May 2025
We stayed here for a week in July with our two mini dachshunds and honestly, it was lovely. The cottage is charming and really well-kept, with the hot tub being a real highlight - especially during the hot weather, since it was cooled down and super refreshing. The hosts were very friendly and made us feel really welcome, which was a nice touch. Watching the planes land from the nearby flight path was surprisingly relaxing and the dogs loved making new friends in the village of Thaxted. We’d definitely recommend it for a peaceful getaway!

The owners are genuinely lovely and went above and beyond when the storm knocked out the power. The place was spotless, warm and well-equipped. Our dog loved the enclosed garden and we really enjoyed the hot tub too!

We had a really lovely stay at this place! The setting is absolutely beautiful and very private, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The owners were super friendly and always ready to help if needed, but it never felt intrusive. The hot tub was such a treat after a day of cycling - really hit the spot. Only thing to keep in mind is that the cottage is under the flight path at Stansted, so there’s quite a bit of aircraft noise. Luckily, we got used to it quickly and it didn’t ruin our holiday at all. Definitely recommend!

We enjoyed our stay in the cabin; it felt really cosy and perfect for relaxing. The only minor downside was the view, which wasn’t great and it was quite close to the car park. Still, it was peaceful enough!

We had such a lovely stay at this cottage. It’s tucked away on a working farm, so it’s super private but still close to everything. Robert and Sharon are genuinely lovely folks, making us feel really welcome. The place itself is huge, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfy bed. The garden’s perfect for dogs, totally secluded and with nice furniture. Plenty of walks nearby and Thaxted has some great restaurants - we especially enjoyed The Star and The Maypole. Overall, we’d definitely recommend it!
