Just 5 miles away are the Mendip Hills, a stunning landscape of limestone outcrops and gorges, and a taster for the amazing Cheddar Gorge (20 miles) which can be easily reached for a fantastic day out exploring above and below ground.

On arrival the inside of our lodge was incredibly hot (middle of heatwave) we naturally opened all windows and doors to let some air in. Only to find that most of the windows don’t open properly. We immediately started to unpack our kitchen stuff to find that the fridge/freezer had been switched off and was as hot inside as the lodge. Not good as we had loads of items that needed to be kept cool. The staff did allow us to keep our bits in their fridges but then trying to retrieve our stuff some hours later was a bit of a pain as nobody seemed to know where it had been put and the staff weren’t exactly helpful. Also there were ants everywhere and the lodge was in need of some serious tlc. Definitely not worth the money we paid.

On the surface looked great, sofas not built for comfort.Beds are so comfortable but the wooden frames are a little large for the rooms. All adults have come home with scrapes and bruises

Absolutely beautiful well kept resort, great facilities although small the gym could do with some more bits but works just fine, the swimming pool, sauna and steam room very well kept and very clean. The bar restaurant are again was very well kept and friendly staff on hand to help, I would say the food is expensive for what it is. Our lodge was great, clean and tidy on arrival and the perfect size for us as a small family. We are already looking at booking to come back next year

The lodge was a bit of a let down. Dodgy door handles, broken bed slats, leaking hot tub, showers/basins not draining well, poorly equipped kitchen if you wanted to cook a decent meal. It is spacious though and easily accommodated our large group.

On arrival we given a site map and shown the position of the Lodge, and how to get there. Then came the first disappointment. When I booked this lodge, I took pains to let the person on the phone that we were a party of 3 people with mobilities and if possible a ramp and not steps or at least some coloured tape on on the edge of the steps and I was told that this could be arranged but I might have to bring my own tape. So I booked this lodge. on arrival upon asking if our requests had been considered I was told that there was no lodges with ramps but we would be able to park next to the lodge. Although this involved climbing up a steep bank. On checking with reception about my request for tape I was told no with no reason given this is the first time this has happened, and it made life difficult when going out Inn fact on the first day my daughter nearly slipped but | managed to catch her before she fell into to road. there is large plannt growing in the entrance/ exit to the site which blocks out sight of any of any car leaving the site

Brilliant love this lodge loads of space great terrace comfy beds good bathrooms and great kitchen dishwasher and washer.

Had all the kitchen equipment needed and bathrooms clean and well maintained.Some furniture had marks and the couch probably needs replacing but didn't detract from the stay once settled in. The outside glass table wasn't cleaned from the last occupants so we had to clean ourselves. The Monopoly board in the coffee table is pointless and you can see loads of dirt under the glass which was a bit off putting!

Lovely lodge. We were in 56 which did have room for a medium and small car otherwise we would have struggled with parking. Only negative is that it had the path right behind leading to the woodland walk and activity area and people let their dogs bark and talked so maybe a sign reminding them would be helpful. Hot tub was lovely, checked every day. Nice decking area and we appreciated the dishwasher and washing machine.

We had a fantastic time at the Cheddar resort and spa. We took our daughter who is 6 and newphew 12 and niece 14. The resort has great facilities with tennis, bastketball, football and we signed up for some of the Go active activities sea scooters and sea kayaks were a hit. Our daughter also enjoyed the pirates paradise. The pool is fabulous, clean and modern. We visited on the first week of the school holidays and it never felt too busy. Go active staff were great.
