We had a really lovely time! Sharon and Robert were fantastic hosts, making us feel very at home from the start. The place was spotlessly clean, comfy and perfect for Archie, our dog, with good security too. The location was just right-lots of scenic walks and charming villages like Thaxted nearby. Honestly, we left feeling refreshed and relaxed, so it was just what we needed!

We stayed at Goddard's Mead recently and honestly, Rob and Sharon did such a lovely job transforming this historic spot. They gave us a warm welcome and Bonnie was adorable too. The place has everything for a chill, comfy stay. The location’s perfect - right in the heart of Essex. We took some time to explore Thaxted and nearby villages, which are full of charm and history. Definitely recommend for a relaxing getaway!

We had a lovely stay at this charming cottage. The owners were genuinely friendly and went out of their way to help us, which made all the difference. The place itself is really cosy, with a strong shower and a comfortable bed that made us feel right at home. Parking right next to the cottage was super convenient and it was spotlessly clean. We enjoyed nice walks through the fields to Thaxted and exploring the nearby village with its pretty half-timbered houses and windmill. Definitely recommend!

We absolutely loved our stay here! The place is tucked away in such a peaceful, private spot, yet the owners are really friendly and always ready to help if needed. The hot tub was a real treat after a day cycling around. Only thing to note is that it’s right under Stansted’s flight path, so there’s quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didn’t bother us after a while, but if you're sensitive to noise, it’s worth keeping in mind. Overall, a lovely spot-would definitely come back!

We had a really lovely stay at this cosy place nestled in a quiet, private spot. The owners are super friendly and always on hand if you need anything, but they respect your privacy too. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day cycling around. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that the cottage is beneath Stansted’s flight path, so there’s quite a bit of aircraft noise. It took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but honestly, it didn’t ruin our holiday at all! Lovely spot overall.

We took a dog walking break and honestly, it was spot on. The place was cosy and clean, with lovely pubs and eateries just a short stroll away. The nearby fields and trails kept our dog super happy-she didn’t want to leave! It’s a perfect spot for a peaceful getaway.

We had a lovely stay at this charming cottage. The owners are genuinely warm and thoughtful, making us feel really welcome. The place itself is beautifully maintained-spotlessly clean and cosy, with a great shower and comfy bed. Parking right outside was a real bonus. We enjoyed peaceful walks across the fields to Thaxted, which is full of lovely half-timbered houses and a windmill. It’s also quite easy to get around to nearby villages. Really enjoyed our time!

We spent a week at this lovely place from July 15th to 22nd with our two mini Dachshunds and honestly, they had a great time making friends in the charming village of Thaxted. The cottage itself is really cosy and the hot tub was such a treat-perfect for cooling off during the scorching weather. The hosts were genuinely friendly and welcoming, which made us feel at home. It was nice to see their horses out in the fields every day. Being close to Stansted’s flight path was actually quite fun to watch the planes land. We’d definitely recommend it!

Steven
Cracking park , outdoor pool games room pool, snooker, darts . Food reasonable friendly staff. Tucked away a bit but a good base for Blackpool, Morombe etc .
Sharon
Absolutely love cockerham sands. Great walks great views. It’s a quiet site but everything you need is there. It is in middle of nowhere so a car is necessary if you want to venture out ?
Patricia
Caravan very clean & well furnished. We had a very good weekend. We have been a few times & will be back soon.
Katy
Caravan was great and site had good facilities. Pool was great but could have been a bit warmer for the little ones. We were told we could check in at 3pm but when we arrived at 3:10 the caravan wasn’t ready until 3:45, member of staff behind reception wasn’t very helpful and a little abrupt. Overall we had a great holiday, entertainment at night was great and we enjoyed days out to morecambe, Lakeland maize farm and Blackpool.
Heather
Black bags in the caravan would be useful and towels would save on the packing. Don’t forget to bring towels as no where to buy any. The shop is very reasonable and very helpful staff.
