Blickling Hall is a Grade I listed Jacobean country house near Aylsham in Norfolk, set in 5,000 acres of parkland in a loop of the River Bure. It was built after 1616 for Sir Henry Hobart on the ruins of a Tudor house once held by the Boleyn family, and it is now cared for by the National Trust.

Holkham Hall is an 18th-century Neo-Palladian country house, designed by William Kent for Thomas Coke, 1st Earl of Leicester. It is Grade I listed and still the ancestral home of the Coke family. Inside, you can see the Marble Hall, made of pink Derbyshire alabaster, and the Saloon with its red velvet walls. Guided cellar and attic tours take you behind the scenes.

A military museum on a former Second World War camp on the North Norfolk coast, with working tanks.
The Muckleburgh Military Collection sits on a former military camp at Weybourne on the North Norfolk coast, a site used for anti-aircraft training in the Second World War. Exhibits include working tanks, armoured cars, artillery, anti-aircraft guns, missiles and light weapons, plus displays on the Norfolk and Suffolk Yeomanry and on sea rescue and reconnaissance.

Oxburgh Hall is a moated medieval manor house near Swaffham, with Victorian Gothic interiors. It was built in the 1480s for the Bedingfeld family, who still live in private apartments there. You cross the moat to a tall brick gatehouse, then explore the hall, which has a priest hole and needlework hangings worked by Mary, Queen of Scots and Bess of Hardwick.
Tip: Parking is free on site, and the hall is about 250 metres from the main car park along a flat gravel path.

A vast Neolithic flint mining landscape, dug by hand with deer antler picks around 4,500 years ago.
Grime's Graves is a large Neolithic flint mining complex in Norfolk, 8 km north east of Brandon. Miners worked here from around 2600 to 2300 BC, digging shafts into the chalk to reach seams of flint, which was much in demand for making polished stone axes. Some of the largest shafts are more than 14 m deep and 12 m wide at the surface.

Perfect little lodge. I did not want to leave! The day boat added a bit of adventure to the holiday.

We are repeat visitors to Summer Vale. It has everything we need for a relaxing break. It is very clean and adequately equipped. Lovely bedding and towels. The boat is a huge benefit. The position of the lodge is nice and quiet with easy access to shops, cafes and anything else you might need. The staff are lovely and couldnt be more helpful. Highly recommend this holiday.
This was great value for money. We also had a day motor launch included. Everything we needed was in the cottage. Cleanliness was second to none when we arrived.

This is our 5th time visiting Summercraft. We have always found Sue, Debbie and Paul very helpful on arrival and throughout the holiday. The accommodation and boat are always spotless and well maintained. We have recommended Summercraft to family and friends and they have all booked. We chose to eat out but full kitchen is available. We have booked our next holiday with them for next year already!
Really enjoyed our week. Short walk into Wroxham with all the shops and pharmacy. House was lovely and well kept with everything we needed and extra blankets heaters/fans in the wardrobes. Peaceful little spot with the sun setting onto the little garden.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The peaceful location with lovely views of water birds was just what we needed to unwind. The beds and chairs were comfy, which made mornings easier, even if it was a bit chilly early on. Its conveniently close to town, just a short walk and having space for two cars was handy. No broadb and wasnt a big issue since we relied on our phones. Definitely recommend!
