Could do with clothes hooks in the bathroom, binbags, bread knife, shower was still leaking even though this was highlighted in the comments book as being reported!! Curtain pole ends were in the dressing table draw, no bedside lamps. Should have been advised that building work was going on right next to our lodge.

Haddiscoe lodge is a spacious, comfortable, well equipped holiday home. A large parasol for the outside table would have been a welcome addition as the lodge is south facing & we were there in the hottest week of the year.

I probably wouldn't want to pay full price in peak season summer holidays but we went in July before the kids broke up and got it cheaper so it felt like fantastic value for money.
really comfortable, well equipped, a real home away from home.

We haven't stayed at a lodge as nice as this. It had everything you needed from a welcome pack of break and milk to washing up liquid and tea towels. They really had thought of everything. It was perfect for 4 adults with so much room and very good facilities to cook meals.

Nice lodge. Just a few things that let it down. A number of light bulbs not working. Mould in the shower. Cooker hood old and broken. Lots of Windows look directly into other lodges so you feel you need to keep the curtains closed on the sides.

We had an amazing stay was clean, hot tub nice and private. Pub was friendly, food was delicious. The site was nice and secluded down a lane no where near a main road so was very peaceful. Would definitely stay here again.
Geoffrey, Deal
Date of stay: 30th June 2017
The lodge was even better than expected, after going with another reputable company, we were even more impressed with this lodge, the setting was amazing. The welcome pack was appreciated and a very pleasant surprise. The hot tub was checked every single day by the staff and adjusted accordingly. The cleanliness upon arrival was wonderful, a fully equipped kitchen with full size fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave and cooker was lovely. I was amazed at the number of cupboards in the bedrooms, how can anybody have that much storage, even more than at home.

Date of stay: 16th June 2017
The accommodation position and outlook was excellent, a couple of simple things did disappoint, shower in communal toilet needs repair Or replacement.(poor flow & likely to flood area !!).
Kettle needs to be binned.
External clean of furniture & window areas would send right message in terms of cleaning STDs.
Glynis, Peterborough
Date of stay: 29th May 2017
I would definitely recommend to friends and family we stayed from Friday to Monday In May 2017 lovely break. The restaurant on site was outstanding all staff very friendly and polite. We were unable to hire a boat for a day or even half a day, so if we went again we would book early, it was a peaceful relaxing break. My 2 year old granddaughter loved the swimming pool and feeding the ducks ny the river. Very dog friendly, so the dog had a great holiday too, we would definitely go again and stay in one of their lodges

Date of stay: 24th April 2017
Great view of the boats and surrounding fields. Nice quiet site. Good shop selling the basics. Excellent pub on site. Walks from the site are limited and not very interesting. Accommodation was excellent with lovely crisp bed linen and great balcony. A little dusty in places and a constant noise from the boiler, but not loud enough to keep us awake. Would recommend, but probably wouldn't visit again as not much to do in the area unless you are prepared to drive .

Date of stay: 21st April 2017
Just a shame no dogs allowed here but the place itself was great for us. Hot tub checked every day and lovely to look out of the window at the wildlife. The small garden could do with upkeep. Needs a gate on the end of the verandah as anyone can wander round while you are in the garden or hot tub. Lovely touch to have cake and bread as a welcome treat - thank you.

Lovely weekend break. Best part was enjoying the sunrise from the hot tub while enjoying a cup of tea!
Good walk across the nature reserve though had to wait for ferryman to be found.
Cabin was well equipped and clean, with comfy bed. Some noise from the hot tub running at night woke my light sleeping husband. Staff did offer to turn it off. Maybe some sort of time switch would be good.

Date of stay: 18th November 2016
We were very impressed with the Penthouse View apartment - it was spacious, beautifully decorated and warm, with wonderful views all around. We were a little disappointed with the cleanliness in the kitchen area, especially the kettle and the extractor fan. Also of the cooking pans, only one had a lid that fitted, and the frying pan was not very good. This was a shame as all the furniture, fittings, bedding and towels etc. were of the highest standard, so the kitchen was a little disappointing. It would also be a good idea to have an area just inside the entrance that wasn't covered in cream carpet, so there was an area for walking boots etc. and somewhere to stand/sit whilst taking them off. It took us three days to find the Welcome Book of information, which we were eventually told was in the 'secret compartment' of a table - so secret we couldn't even find it!! Bizarre - why not put it where it could be found??
Donna, Basildon

Date of stay: 16th September 2016
Very comfortable lodge, Spa Lodge 3. Great hot tub, but unfortunately my partner is diabetic, so the lodge hand book advised diabetics should seek medical advice before using hot tubs. We weren't aware of this hot tub issue before we went, so it was handy that the book mentioned it. She just dangled her feet in to be on the safe side! Really good kitchen for self catering, but we ate out most days. Great beds, and a very peaceful setting in the lodge side of the Centre. There is a camping / glamping area to, on the other side of the site. Looked nice, but the peaceful factor there would depend on your neighbours I expect!

Date of stay: 29th August 2016
As a family group of ten we were all really pleased at the high quality of the accommodation, very clean and well maintained. The only downside was the long grass in the small garden and the hot tub started to turn green quite quickly.
Gayle, Spennymoor
Date of stay: 22nd August 2016
Lodge was fantastic, the welcome pack a lovely touch, however the two couches were slightly small, other than this one of the best accommodation I have stayed in.
Jonathan
Date of stay: 15th August 2016
The lodge had enough parking for two cars and was easy to find as the site is not large. We arrived at about 4pm, we loved the gift food of fresh bread and jam. We were surprised that the pots were in the dishwasher for us to unload and then unfortunately once you start to look, we then noticed that the lodge was not as clean as per our initial impressions. Insects in the light fittings - visible when we turned the lights on, oven left in a state and needed a clean, green shower head could do with a good scrub, I could go on. However nothing was that bad, that we wanted to spoil our holiday (as it was now after 5:30pm and no-one was in reception) by spending time complaining. The beds and towels were clean and comfortable. I did complete the Waveney River Center feedback but no follow up.

There is central heating for the cool days and nights, but, when it is warm it is stifling in those lodges, badly in need of air con or at least a couple of fans.

Lodge was excellent and very clean. Beds very comfortable with a TV in the master bedroom. Wi-Fi was poor as we were in the lodge furthest from the reception. I ended up paying extra for mobile data to keep my teenage daughter connected. Don't expect to be downloading video even if you have a good connection. Maybe this should be clear on advertising.

Had a lovely holiday here. The staff was beyond helpful and I think that's what made our holiday even better. Great lodge. Very clean. We had dinner at the pub on site and it was beautiful. This place is definitely a place to go and I will be visiting again very soon.

Immaculate lodge finished to a high standard. Hot tub is very private and has beautiful views across the Norfolk Broads. Welcome pack included some lovely artisan bread and was much appreciated. Location is remote but does have good facilities including a swimming pool and a bar / restaurant where we enjoyed an evening meal.

Great place to stay , it's the 3rd time we have been here, wether it's with family or just the wife and I , it's handy for local shopping in Beccles which we found rather interesting , also close to the sea, Yarmouth and Lowerstoft are both round the corner , we are again looking forward to our next visit.

Date of stay: 30th October 2015
Extremely comfortable and well equipped with plenty of room for the extended family. The Although it wasn't a problem for us a gate from the side of the house to the back garden would ensure safety when small children are staying at Burgh Staithe. The hot tub was enjoyed by everyone especially when star gazing and telling stories.

Other very small issues that would be helpful - hooks for bathrobes/dressing gowns, toiletries shelf in shower, beer glasses/large tumblers, outside line/fold up dryer for swim costumes/towels - more eco friendly than electric driers.
Jane, Southampton

The lodge was ideal and well thought out. We were happy with everything but there were a couple of minor things that needed changing. One of the settees needed a clean and the table mats were worn. Make these minor changes and it would be a 10.

Excellent leisure lodge everything spotless. All appliances worked and were in good order. Towels supplied. Furniture in very good condition. Everything had a fresh and clean feel about it. When we left someone was cleaning the outside of the lodge of spiders webs etc. Would have no hesitation in recommending this lodge and site as a great holiday venue.

Would have loved more time relaxing in the lovely Burgh Staithe but children needed distraction so days out took us from the location.
Cost was still a little steep for 10 people yet 10 adults would not have minded that cost - children however perhaps could have cost less?
Karen, Lichfield

Date of stay: 10th July 2015
Lodges were well appointed with good decor and we loved the idea of the bird feeder which gave hours of entertainment and cost a fortune to keep stocked up! Only 3 negative points to make :- Needed a bigger teapot, patio chairs not the most comfortable and with the stony path we couldn't push the wheelchair up to the pub/restaurant and needed to take the car. Overall a lovely place to stay.
Helen, Leigh On Sea
Date of stay: 29th June 2015
The accommodation was lovely and was at a very high standard.
Overall we had a lovely weekend, HOWEVER we paid £110 extra for the hot tub but it wasnt working properly, the maintenance men told us that they had been having problems with it, yet we were still allocated this lodge for our weekend break despite other lodges with hot tubs being available. We have written to the director of Waveney who admits there is a problem but refuses to refund the £110, which is very disappointing, especially as it was the maintenance man who told us to complain as he was fed up with trying to fix it.

If i'm being really picky the only thing i would change would be to lower the garden fence so that you can sit and enjoy the river views(the fence gets in the way!)

Lovely lodge with views overlooking the river and meadows, there was more than enough room for the 6 of us, very clean, with everything you need, just like a home-from-home, dogs were also well catered for with a feeding and water bowl, clean towel and board so that they could use the patio area. There was even a loaf of locally made bread, milk in the fridge and a cake for us when we arrived, a lovely touch.

Date of stay: 20th February 2015
Lovely clean lodge, nice touch with fresh bread, butter, milk and cakes on arrival. Only criticism would be small twin beds, at 2ft 6" wide, probably best suited to children rather than adults.

Date of stay: 27th December 2014
We have always been very happy with our accommodation and if there has ever been a problem it has always been rectified within an hour. We love the fact that we can take the family dog with us and that there is always two bowls one for her food and one for her water and a towel to dry her with after those wet winter morning walks.

Eddie had put a comment on the dust on the tv to 'clean me'. It was still dusty on arrival. The bathroom shelf also required cleaning. The rest of the accommodation was excellent

Date of stay: 29th August 2014
lodge was excellent, very well equipped. One thing that would improve it is a coffee maker. As we have pre-schoolers the addition of a little gate to prevent them escaping from the terrace area would be good (although maybe not for this lodge as it is wheelchair friendly). We took our own travel gate.

Staff very friendly. Lodge needed a bit of TLC but extremely comfortable. Although could have done with two double beds.Waveney Inn the head chief was very un helpful and un accomadating when Resturant was empty and we wanted to eat for four people
Glenda
Beautifully clean, modern and comfortable lodge, our hot tub was very private but many on the site were not so if you require privacy be careful which lodge you choose and the hot tub was set at 37.5, which for us was not hot enough
Hannah
A great holiday and good fun had by all members of the family! A beautiful, clean holiday park, offering immaculate and spacious accommodation. Good on site facilities, providing lots of things for our daughter to do. Would definitely return!
Jean
We had a wonderful relaxing time.
Janice
Enjoyed a lovely 4 night Easter break at Waveney with family. We are looking to book again. Be careful parking in the car park nearest to the river - one day it had flooded so much we could only get to Burgh Staithe Lodge by ferrying people in our 4x4. I personally did not care for the lanes getting to and from Waveney and I'm glad I didn't have to drive.
Harriet
Brilliant , beautiful place , we had heavy snow but staff went out of their way to make it as functional as possible alwUs friendly and over helpful ,, Cabin beautiful and clean ,, Site lovely quiet and beautiful ,, overall great will deffo go bk x

Fun Days Out near Waveney River Centre

about 3 Miles
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is an amazing 50 acres area of stunning coastal parkland and is packed with family friendly rides and attractions. This park is an excellent choice for families with children of varied ages as there are a number of small rides for the little ones as well as some adrenaline boosting white knuckle rides for teenagers. As well as rides the site hosts some fantastic shows including the ever popular Sea Lion and Parrot encounters. At Halloween, Christmas and Easter other themed shows can also be enjoyed.  The site also has a good range of places to eat and drink whether you are looking to spend a leisurely hour relaxing with a meal or just grab a quick snack.
about 4 Miles
Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.

Bewilderwood is a fun day out for the whole family located in the Wroxham area of Norfolk.  This imaginative adventure park has won awards and we think kids especially will love the characters and the magical tree houses. You can even book your ticket online and beat the queues by visiting their website where you can also view video clips of the park. This place is also the setting for the book 'A Boggle at BeWILDerwood', by local children's author Tom Blofeld.  Parents are not left out either as you're encouraged to take part and play alongside your children.
about 26 Miles
This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
about 27 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
about 30 Miles
This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area.  The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region.  The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK.  Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.
about 31 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.
about 36 Miles
The National Trust Sheringham Park in Norfolk was designed by Humphry Repton and the book of original designs can still be seen. The park has many attractions including a viewing tower and a gazebo with amazing coastal views, wildlife trails which young children will love and an exhibition barn where visitors can learn the history of the park.
