Visitor Reviews of Old Buckenham Country Park

Really disappointed, our dog got hurt on that loose screw!

Honestly, we were pretty disappointed with our stay. The wooden beds in the lodge were a real letdown - they creaked and moved because the joints had come loose, which made it impossible to sleep without waking everyone up. My son ended up sleeping on the sofa since we couldn’t risk the noise and by the end of the night, everyone was exhausted and grumpy. The lodges definitely need regular checks to prevent this sort of thing. The sofa was nice, but only one? That meant all four of us had to squeeze in to watch a film, which wasn’t ideal. The hot tub was lovely, though - that was definitely a highlight. But the bathroom setup was a bit odd - two hooks on the door for towels? A proper towel rail would’ve been more practical, especially when towels are wet. Also, there’s no insulation, so you can hear everything happening in neighbouring toilets - not the most relaxing. We spoke to reception about these issues and they seemed to know about the problems. Sadly, we cut our weekend short and headed home, feeling pretty gutted as our birthday break was ruined by these things. Won’t be recommending this place again, unfortunately.

Our time at Old Buckenham Country Park was really enjoyable. The lodge was spacious and spotless, with top-notch facilities. The kids loved the play area and the outdoor seating by the lake was perfect for relaxing. Plenty of space for the dogs to roam. We’ll definitely be back soon - a lovely spot!

Really enjoyed staying here, the lodge was perfect for the kids.

We stayed at this lodge recently and honestly, it’s got a lot going for it. The main bedroom bed was super comfy and there was plenty of wardrobe space, which was handy. The outdoor area was really nice too, although the chairs could’ve been a bit more comfy - some cushions would’ve been perfect! The sofa was quite low, so it wasn’t the most comfortable, but it wasn’t a deal-breaker. One thing we found odd was the lack of a towel rail in the bathroom - kinda strange not to have somewhere to hang towels. The kitchen was okay, but we ended up taking foil because we wouldn’t have trusted the oven trays to hold our food. They’d been cleaned, but honestly, they looked like they needed replacing. A decent chopping board and, for a fair price, a dishwasher would’ve made the place feel more luxurious. Also, a vacuum and mop would’ve helped keep things tidy. Overall, it’s a lovely lodge in a lovely spot and with a few little tweaks, it could be truly amazing! Still, we’d definitely come back.

We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge. The beds were super comfy and the shower was always warm - perfect after a day exploring. The kitchen was well equipped with utensils, though we did spot a few ants, which isn’t surprising in a wooden lodge in the countryside.

We loved the lodge! It was spotless, cosy and really spacious. Everything we needed was there. Just wish there was some outside lighting for the decking and hot tub area, really.

We had a lovely stay and would definitely come back. Just a few things like outdoor lighting could be added, but we underst and it’s new and still getting everything sorted. Overall, a great experience!
