Ideally located for exploring the Norfolk Broads, this wonderful holiday park is tucked away safely and peacefully in the beautiful and picturesque village of Potter Heigham, with its marina, boatyard and shops.

this well-maintained park sits amidst 6 acres of beautiful mature countryside close to the glorious Norfolk coast.

A mixture of refurbished caravans and luxury holiday homes all of which are to a very good standard, you will be able to either completely relax inside of your accommodation and admire the views from here, visit the local pub just 200 yards from the main entrance of the park, go for lovely local walks/use one of the many cycle routes, or you can use this as a base to explore the local area.

Whichever you decide, we are sure you will get exactly what you are looking for at this peaceful, secure, stunning location.

You can also bring your dog on holiday in several of the accommodations Norfolk Broads have to offer, so you don’t have to leave your four-legged friend at home.

Riverside pubs and cafés are plentiful, and a number of Broadland centres offer bike hire or canoe hire (possibly the most delightful way to discover the lovely reed lined waterways and their abundant wildlife) and visitors can also hire boats in Potter Heigham, or take a pleasure cruise from bustling Wroxham – the capital of the Broads and home to the ‘world’s largest village store’, as well as the train station for the Bure Valley narrow gauge steam railway.

Close by, BeWILDerwood, a magical tree top park, promises children a day to remember, and lovely dune backed sandy beaches are a short drive – Sea Palling lies just 6 miles away, Horsey Windpump (National Trust) just 7 miles away, and Winterton-on-Sea just 8 miles away where you can often see the seals!

For lively family fun, Pettitts Adventure Animal Adventure Park is a short drive away in the heart of the stunning Norfolk Broads.

Pettitts has a mixture of fun rides such as the Crazy Caterpillar rollercoaster, Little Explorers balloon ride, Safari Adventure, and the Bouncing Kangaroos.

They also have 30+ different species of exotic and domestic birds, animals, and reptiles to meet, feed and pet!

Great Yarmouth is a few miles away too with its famous pleasure beach, or Pleasurewood Hills theme park, whilst Cromer also offers traditional seaside entertainments, including a renowned end of pier show.

Bygone museums, craft centres and Blickling Hall (National Trust) are all within an easy drive, as is the medieval city of Norwich with its magnificent cathedral, castle, galleries, museums, cinemas, theatres, and excellent shopping.

A little further afield on the North Norfolk Coast, seal watching boat trips can be found at picturesque fishing villages, many of which also boast pubs and restaurants serving superb, locally caught seafood.

Coarse fishing is available on local waters just 400 yards away, and the pretty village of Ludham boasts two pubs and a good range of shops.

Visitor Reviews of Norfolk Broads Country Park

Alex Turner, Bedfordshire
Date of stay: 10th May 2025
Really brightened our year after such a tough time. Cheers!

We had a fantastic weekend at this place! It really ticked all the boxes for us. The underfloor heating was a hit with our dogs-they had a blast in the garden. Luna was wagging her tail so much that she strained it, but the vet said it’s normal after such fun! Definitely planning to return soon. We loved it!

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely cottage tucked away on a working farm, yet it felt very private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are such warm and friendly folks. The place is really spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that we didn't want to leave! The garden is perfect for dogs-completely secluded and furnished nicely. We enjoyed lots of walks nearby and Thaxted’s restaurants, especially The Star and The Maypole, were great. Honestly, we’d definitely recommend it!

We had such a lovely stay at Norfolk Broad Country Park! The caravan was really modern and spotlessly clean, with a big fridge freezer and washing machine. Perfect location too. We’ll definitely come back!

We loved our stay here! The place is set in a stunning, secluded spot - perfect for a peaceful getaway. The hosts were super friendly and always ready to help without intruding on our privacy. The hot tub was a real highlight after long bike rides; absolute bliss! One thing to note, the cottage is quite close to Stansted’s flight path, so there’s quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didn’t bother us much once we got used to it, but it might be worth considering if you’re sensitive to noise. All in all, a lovely spot!

We really enjoyed our time there; it was super peaceful and quiet, which was just what we needed. The lodge itself was tidy and the beds were comfy, so no complaints on that front. That said, it did feel like the place could do with a bit of sprucing up - some areas looked a bit worn out. For example, the curtain holder in the bedroom was completely broken and just left in the drawer, plus there was some damage to the side of the bedroom unit. The fridge door didn’t quite shut properly either and we found a bottle of cooking oil left in the cupboard, which was a bit odd. The worktop had some damage too. Staff could’ve been a bit more on the ball when we mentioned the Wi-Fi wasn’t working; they gave us a code for another lodge and said it’d be fine, but the Wi-Fi was weak all week. It was only when we checked out that we saw the modem in the lodge was turned off - a simple fix that staff could’ve easily looked into. Still, overall, we’d recommend it for a nice break!

We stayed at this lovely lodge, perfect for our family of four. The two toilets made mornings so much easier! The lounge was spacious and cosy, especially in the chilly February weather. Beds were comfy with plenty of room. Just a heads-up, adding more dishes and egg cups would be great. Overall, a wonderful stay!

We had a really lovely time! Sharon and Robert were such friendly hosts and made us feel right at home. The place had everything we needed - super clean, comfy and perfect for our dog Archie. The location was spot on, with lots of nice walks nearby and Thaxted and the surrounding villages are absolutely charming. We definitely left feeling refreshed and relaxed after our week away!

We recently stayed in this new caravan and honestly, it’s pretty good overall. The location’s decent and we’d probably come back. That said, the heating system left us a bit unsure - with nighttime temps around 7 or 8 degrees, it only just kept us warm and I doubt it’d cope if it got much colder. The radiator setup isn’t ideal; a wall thermostat would be much better than fiddling with individual radiators. Also, it would’ve been handy to have some more electric sockets in the lounge for charging phones and gadgets. The close proximity to other caravans did cause some minor issues, like people getting out before us and the occasional door banging. But yeah, not bad at all!

We just got back from a really nice four-night stay at this cottage. The owners were super friendly and helpful without being intrusive, which was much appreciated. The big fenced garden was perfect for our dog to run around freely. The place had everything we needed and we even enjoyed a BBQ one evening. The hot tub was fantastic! We’d definitely come back and have already recommended it to friends. Thanks for a great break!

Date of stay: 24th October 2024
We stayed at Goddard's Mead recently and really appreciated how much effort Rob and Sharon put into preserving the charm of this historic building. They were incredibly welcoming and Bonnie added to the warm atmosphere. The location is perfect for exploring Essex, especially if you enjoy wandering through quaint villages like Thaxted with their stunning old buildings and rich history. It’s a peaceful spot for a relaxing break, definitely recommended for anyone wanting a cosy getaway.
Emma
Date of stay: 22nd October 2024
We had a lovely stay at the lodge. It’s a bit snug, but honestly, perfect for just the two of us. The second bedroom’s quite tiny, so probably not ideal for four adults, but still a great spot overall.
Emma
