Absolutely awesome place right by the sea. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food was great. We will be coming again.

The Oyster 8 had a spacious double bed room with wardrobe side tables and mirror, carpeted throughout the Caravan. The two other rooms had single beds x 2 in each and wardrobe space provided. There was ample cupboard space throughout and nicely laid out. The wet room was surprisingly big also. We have stayed in some caravans where there is just wall to wall claustrophobic constriction, but this isnt so in the Oyster 8, the toilet, shower and sink oozed space. Nothing was broken or missing in the caravan that we noticed and we always like to leave it as we found it for the next visitor. We had got a last min deal knocking £204 off our bill, but without that reduction, we quite possibly would not have been going away this year.

Nice park, friendly staff, although as we were there the week before the English school holidays, not much was going on on-site. Also, the menu says meals are available until 9pm, we arrived at 8pm one night to order food and the woman on the bar seemed a bit miffed that we were ordering that late. Turned out the person who normally cooks wasn't working (is that because it wasn't busy season yet? If so don't advertise food up to 9pm), but to her credit she made our meals and they were spot on.

Loved the lodge. Autistic son had space to take himself off. Whereas I think a caravan would have been to claustrophobic for him. Everything we needed to enjoy our time away

An oyster caravan is definitely worth paying the extra money, as it is more luxury and having stayed in a lower grade one you really notice the difference, hence the saying you pay for what you get.
Glyn, Cambridge
Date of stay: 22nd August 2014
We had a good 4 days, the only comment would be that I think the club house should be open all day, would have been nice to have a pie and a pint without having to get in the car all the time,
Angela, Northants
Date of stay: 9th August 2014
Beautiful location, lovely beach on the doorstep, had a great holiday. Arcade facilities in the club house could have been better for the kids but overall would definitely go back again.
Diane, Cambridge
Date of stay: 2nd August 2014
We spent an amazing week at Castaways, the staff could not have been more helpful and efficient. The location of the site is wonderful, we took three dogs who were made as welcome as us, and the beaches and sea were amazing. My two 13 year olds my self and my sister swam in the sea every day, and spent lazy evenings bbq ing on the beach. If you want an old fashioned, butties on the beach long walks and digging holes, holiday this is the place to go.

Date of stay: 31st May 2014
Had a lovely, relaxing holiday. Not the place to go for non-stop entertainment and noisy discos, but small club on site was just what we wanted. For beach-based holidays with miles of golden sand, this site is a perfect base. Also extremely dog friendly, which was important to us. Will definitely visit again.
Ian, Holmfirth

Lovely caravan site overlooking the beach. Just a shame it's next door to the ugly gas site.

Date of stay: 22nd February 2014
Lovely location and quiet too. Right next to a fantastic beach with long walks available
Katie
Lovely quiet area of Norfolk. Our arrival was quick and easy. Our caravan was absolutely spotless with amazing sea views out of the window. The caravan was of a good standard with all the facilities you would need, we didn't use any on site facilities. I can imagine in the summer the beach would be lovely to relax on. Nothing in the local area but great Yarmouth, castor, Norwich and Cromer in easy reach. We would visit again, thank you for a lovely relaxing break.
Brian
Great break even though we had a power cut during the Beast from the East, which was really cold, however, despite the time of the year, it was a really pleasant break from reality.
Sally
Great location near beach and 3 bed lodge with dogs over xmas great value !! Staff were outstanding and helpful - great stay !
CARRY
Excellent location and site managed very well
Bridget

Fun Days Out near Castaways Holiday Park

about 10 Miles
Bewilderwood is a fun day out for the whole family located in the Wroxham area of Norfolk.  This imaginative adventure park has won awards and we think kids especially will love the characters and the magical tree houses. You can even book your ticket online and beat the queues by visiting their website where you can also view video clips of the park. This place is also the setting for the book 'A Boggle at BeWILDerwood', by local children's author Tom Blofeld.  Parents are not left out either as you're encouraged to take part and play alongside your children.
about 13 Miles
The National Trust Sheringham Park in Norfolk was designed by Humphry Repton and the book of original designs can still be seen. The park has many attractions including a viewing tower and a gazebo with amazing coastal views, wildlife trails which young children will love and an exhibition barn where visitors can learn the history of the park.
about 17 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
about 20 Miles
This is a really unique attraction running daily seal watching trips from the middle of March right through to the end of October.  The experienced skippers will lead you out on one of the traditional wooden boats where you will have the chance to see both common and grey seals.  If you love animals then this is one attraction not to be missed! They also do some boat trips combined with guides on dry land such as seal watching combined with a visit to Blakeney Point Nature Reserve, owned by the National Trust.  We think this attraction is excellent value for money as they keep their admission prices low.
about 24 Miles
if you and your family are interested in nature and wildlife then Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens is the perfect place for a day out. This beautiful area of national parkland is home to a huge range of common and rare birds from sparrows to Red Crowned Cranes and also has a red squirrel enclosure - part of a conservation programme and now home to a family of adorable squirrels. Other activities to enjoy at Pensthorpe include pond dipping and Landrover discovery tours. Pensthorpe also played host to BBC'S Springwatch in 2010.
about 26 Miles
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is an amazing 50 acres area of stunning coastal parkland and is packed with family friendly rides and attractions. This park is an excellent choice for families with children of varied ages as there are a number of small rides for the little ones as well as some adrenaline boosting white knuckle rides for teenagers. As well as rides the site hosts some fantastic shows including the ever popular Sea Lion and Parrot encounters. At Halloween, Christmas and Easter other themed shows can also be enjoyed.  The site also has a good range of places to eat and drink whether you are looking to spend a leisurely hour relaxing with a meal or just grab a quick snack.
about 30 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.
about 31 Miles
Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.
about 33 Miles
This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
