We just got back from a four-night trip and honestly, the micro lodge was spot on. The shower was surprisingly spacious and everything was really clean. We loved relaxing outside on the furniture and soaking in the hot tub, especially with the lovely weather. The staff were super friendly and helpful throughout. We also checked out The Globe pub nearby, both inside and outside, where the team was lovely too. Can't wait to come back soon!

We loved the spot! The staff and locals were super friendly and the lodge with the hot tub was just perfect. Having a pub right outside with tasty food was a real bonus. Wish we’d stayed longer for sure. Highly recommend!

Overall, we had a lovely stay. The lodge was fantastic, though it could do with some fixing up-like a toaster and the grill not lighting. Security was top-notch, making us feel really safe. We especially enjoyed the peacocks wandering around and the animals at the hall, which were a lovely touch. The hot tub was a real highlight and Tony, the host, was super helpful and attentive. Also, Adam at the pub was friendly and always around if we needed anything. Great experience!

We recently stayed at the Brackenburgh lodge and honestly, it’s such a lovely spot. The view from the decking is stunning - you’re right among the horses, peacocks, ducks and cockerels, which makes it feel really special. Inside, the lodge was spotless, clearly had a thorough deep clean, which we appreciated. The beds were super comfy, so we all had great sleeps. We loved chilling in the hot tub every evening, it’s such a nice touch. The Globe Inn nearby serves top-notch food and Toni along with his team are genuinely friendly and accommodating. We’d definitely recommend these lodges, just a short drive from Penrith and we’ll be coming back for sure!

Date of stay: 27th January 2020
We just got back from an amazing weekend at Calthwaite Lodges and honestly, it was just what we needed. The lodge itself was gorgeous - super clean, well stocked and the view from the window was to die for. The hot tub was a real highlight, perfect for relaxing after a day exploring. The grounds are stunning to walk around and I can only imagine how lovely everything must look in summer. We stayed in an Aspen lodge, number 2, which was really spacious and had the best view. The peacocks wandering around the grounds were such a lovely touch and kept the kids entertained. The staff at the Globe Inn opposite were super friendly and helpful and Tony, one of the owners, was really lovely to chat with - he even checked the hot tub each day, which was a nice touch. We drove up from Liverpool with our little girl to meet a friend from County Durham - it was the perfect halfway point. We definitely plan to come back!

Date of stay: 6th January 2020
We stayed at this lodge recently and honestly, it was fantastic. The place was spotless and really stylish, with breathtaking views all around. Waking up to horses and animals outside was such a treat. The hot tub was a highlight and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly. The local pub was charming too. Definitely coming back!
Alex, Gb
Date of stay: 30th December 2019
We had a lovely stay overall! The staff at the pub were really friendly and made us feel welcome. The only thing we’d suggest is a welcome pack with key info, like where the boiler is or how to use the oven. Still, it was a great trip!
Emma, Newcastle Upon Tyne
Date of stay: 25th November 2019
Overall, we had a nice stay, but the DVD player being only in the bedroom was a bit of a letdown. Still, lovely place!
Emma, Cheshire
Date of stay: 9th November 2019
The lodge was surprisingly spacious, which was lovely, with plenty of storage. The bed was really comfy and spotless. The shower was great and the kitchen had enough space. The hot tub was definitely a highlight!
Sam, Morpeth
Date of stay: 1st November 2019
Really enjoyed our stay, staff were super welcoming and made everything easy. Cheers!
Cath
Absolutely wonderful stay. This lodge's seating area sits facing away from all the other lodges, with a view over the fields. Well worth paying the extra for privacy. Lodge extremely comfortable and in excellent condition. Our confirmation email didn't say to collect keys at the pub opposite the gates - you need to get them to get through the security gate onto the site. Small site and very quiet. M6 nearby and some noise of traffic but minimal and you soon don't notice it. My old dog appreciated the enclosed veranda and with this being the biggest lodge on site, the veranda gave him his own space. Plenty of quiet dog walks nearby too.
Sylvia
outstanding - the globe was also lovely for food
Trisha
Lovely spotless lodge in a lovely small quiet site. Very friendly Peacocks come calling for a treat everyday. Pub at end of road for drinks or meals. Would definitely go back :)
Amanda
Booked this for 3 days which cost just over £600 which taking into account we were actually only in the lodge for 1 day I felt was a lot of money. We were in Calthwaite for a family so it made sense to stay here. The cabin was a good size and clean, comfy beds and the hot tub was great. Staff amazing. My only real issue was that it was hot while we were there and we had no fans or air con which made things abit uncomfortable at times. I have to be fair though we did not ask if fans were available due to the short time of our stay. The pub across the road was also lovely, again with lovely staff.
Lorna
A beautiful retreat for relaxation. Not much around, but that's a good thing. The horses are beautiful as are the peacocks that roam around freely. Wonderful!!
Geoff
What a fantastic place to stay unbelievable staff very welcoming that means everyone at the lodges and the Globe inn Pub be back there soon ?
Jo
Lovely holiday cottage, Friendly staff. Hot tub was amazing!
Kierran
Amazing venue, staff are great, pub food is really nice
Craig
Great for couples looking for a few days away, would definitely recommend
David
Had a relaxing weekend away here Lovely pub on the doorstep with nice food which is also used as check in and Staff are on hand if you need them via the pub too Ideal for a break away from it all, probably not for kids though as not much around. We will be returning
